About This Service

Even with the best brushing habits, cavities can sometimes happen. At Teddy Bear Dental Care, we specialize in treating childhood cavities with a gentle, compassionate approach that minimizes anxiety and keeps your child comfortable throughout the process.

Cavities in baby teeth are important to treat, even though these teeth will eventually fall out. Untreated cavities can cause pain, infection, and damage to developing permanent teeth beneath. They can also affect your child's ability to eat properly and may impact speech development.

We use the latest techniques and materials to make cavity treatment as comfortable as possible. Our tooth-colored composite fillings blend seamlessly with natural teeth - no more silver fillings! For anxious children, we offer nitrous oxide (laughing gas) to help them relax. Our "tell-show-do" approach explains everything in kid-friendly terms before we begin.

Dr. Dorfman has extensive experience working with children and knows how to put even the most nervous patients at ease. We never rush and always allow children to go at their own pace. Many parents are surprised at how well their children do - and how quickly the appointment goes!

For extensive decay, we may recommend stainless steel crowns or tooth-colored zirconia crowns for baby teeth. These protect the tooth until it's ready to naturally fall out. In some cases, early intervention with silver diamine fluoride (SDF) can stop small cavities from progressing.
